Anthony Magalski

Anthony Magalski, MD

Medical Director, Saint Luke’s Adult Congenital Heart Program

Anthony Magalski, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist with Saint Luke’s Cardiovascular Consultants and on staff at Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute in Kansas City, Missouri. He is the Arvin Gottlieb Endowed Chair for Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant and a Professor in Medicine at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. In addition to these accomplishments, he is board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Advanced Heart Failure and Transplantation, Adult Congenital Heart Disease with advanced certification in Echocardiography, and program director of the Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant fellowship program at Saint Luke’s Hospital and the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. 

Dr. Magalski received his medical degree at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, and completed his Internal Medicine residency and Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. 

His cardiology subspecialties include the care of those patients with heart failure, heart transplantation, congenital heart disease, sports cardiology, and heart conditions in pregnancy.


Brian Birnbaum

Brian Birnbaum, MD

Medical Director, Children’s Mercy Kansas City’s Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic and Pediatric Heart Failure

Brian Birnbaum, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist on staff at Saint Luke’s Cardiovascular Consultants and Children’s Mercy Kansas City. His cardiology subspecialties include adult congenital heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, and heart failure/transplant. He is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. In addition, he is board certified in Internal Medicine, Adult Congenital Heart Disease, Pediatrics, and Pediatric Cardiology. 

Dr. Birnbaum received his medical degree at the University of Colorado in Denver, Colorado, and completed his Internal Medicine-Pediatrics residency at Nationwide Children’s Hospital at Ohio State University. Further, he completed his Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship at St. Louis Children’s Hospital at Washington University, followed by Heart Failure/Heart Transplant training at Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute.
